Why the Shamrock?
First, let’s explain what a shamrock is.
Irish mythology tells of a Catholic priest named Patrick, later Saint Patrick, who travelled to the Emerald Isle to bring Christianity to the Irish.
He needed something to explain the Trinity of Catholicism to the local population and decided to use the three-leaf clover as a symbol for the Holy Trinity.
This small flower, known in Irish Gaelic as the shamrock, became the national symbol of Ireland.
Do you believe in this story?
You have probably read ‘We think your security and privacy is very important’, especially after a data breach of which you were a victim or at the top of an otherwise often unreadable privacy statement.
Many companies say they are committed to information security and privacy, but if you dig a little deeper into the organisation, we quickly see how things really stand.
There is only one remedy: try to convince management that information security, privacy and risk management are essential issues that need to be addressed and maintained for successful businesses.
These three issues are closely related and therefore fit well with a three-leaf clover, the shamrock.

Still need convincing?
Then schedule an introductory meeting with us, try our ad hoc advisory service, or request an assessment in which we will measure the state of your business and tell you exactly where you stand.
Or are you looking for that one trusted partner for all your issues in this area? Schedule an introductory meeting with us, and we will be happy to discuss your issues and work with you to determine which service best suits your company.
However, we always keep asking one question:
“Are you sure your business is secure?”

Andor Demarteau
More than 25 years ago, at the start of my studies in General Computer Science, I was first confronted with IT security.
After attending my first conference in this field, which included a black hat session and sessions on secure communication, the seed had taken root for good.
Today, I am a CISO with over 17 years of management experience and an excellent track record as a trusted advisor to the corporate, banking, healthcare, aviation, media, education and government sectors. I bridge the gap between business and IT. I provide high-quality, transparent, ethical expertise in information security, data protection, privacy, and risk management strategy.
I am an accredited InfoSec trainer, coach, and mentor. I share knowledge and insight with colleagues and the public, and I enjoy explaining complex security and privacy concepts to professionals and non-professionals alike.

After Andor introduced me to privacy and the GDPR during a business trip in 2017, I decided to learn more about it. I also obtained certification in this field.
During an assignment, risk management was added to my responsibilities, which involved thoroughly researching a complete risk analysis methodology and writing a comprehensive manual that is still in use today. Based on this background, I also obtained certification in this area.
With over seven years of experience at various government agencies and commercial organisations, both large and small, I am able to provide high-quality advice on data protection and risk management. This enables me to explain complex matters in understandable language.
