Why the Shamrock?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

First, let’s explain what a shamrock is.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Irish mythology tells of a Catholic priest named Patrick, later Saint Patrick, who travelled to the Emerald Isle to bring Christianity to the Irish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He needed something to explain the Trinity of Catholicism to the local population and decided to use the three-leaf clover as a symbol for the Holy Trinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This small flower, known in Irish Gaelic as the shamrock, became the national symbol of Ireland.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
